UK headquartered payments company Sokin has been announced as the Official Global Business Payments Partner of Nottingham Forest Football Club.
Sokin will manage FX and global payments for Nottingham Forest FC while also supporting e-commerce payment acceptance through the club’s online store. As part of the partnership, Sokin’s branding will be displayed throughout the iconic City Ground.
Sokin has deep-rooted ties to football, having previously partnered with top European clubs including Arsenal, Everton, Fulham, and AS Monaco, and its investor lineup includes former England and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.
Recently ranked ninth in the Sunday Times Tech 100, Sokin was founded in 2019 with a mission to remove the barriers, borders, and costs associated with global payments, making it easier and more affordable for businesses to move money worldwide. It has seen significant growth in recent months, after Morgan Stanely Expansion Capital acquired a $31 million stake in the business last summer and Blackrock provided $15 million in debt funding in January this year.
Sokin enables more than $4.5 billion in transactional volume per year, working with businesses across a wide range of verticals from freight and logistics to Premier League football clubs. It enables global businesses to transfer, hold and exchange over 100 currencies with its multi-currency IBAN and local currency accounts – all through one comprehensive platform.
“We’re delighted to partner with Nottingham Forest. As an iconic club on an exciting upward trajectory, they share our ambition for innovation and growth. We look forward to working closely with them to enhance the club’s global payments infrastructure, ensuring seamless and efficient transactions while supporting its broader financial goals.”
